First of all, a congratulations to everyone who participated! We saw some fantastic matches and some surprising victories. In fact, most of the people who weren't very good at BlazBlue and were playing just for kicks seem to have gained quite an interest in the game. We'll definitley be running more BlazBlue events in the future!

Now, as some of you may have already heard, there was a problem with the capture card being and... we kinda lost all 3.5 gigabytes of high-quality video. Not just from BlazBlue, but from the other game we were playing as well. We, the members of The Administration, would like to apoligize for our error, and assure you that lessons have been learned, and steps have been taken, to make sure this never happens again.

We lost some incredible footage of some fantastic comebacks. JT seemed to be the crowd favorite, taking the bottom-tier character Iron Tager all the way to the finals. He landed a few crazy 80%-of-the-lifebar combos on his foes, and made a couple stellar comebacks after being severely injured. He could not, however, stave off the fury of Eugene's Jin, who definitively took first place that night and dominated every single adversary he faced.

I've had a few more matches online against some very good jins and have learned some things, although they're pressure game was different from eugene's. I look forward to testing my new learned skills this saturday at the LAN and am glad to have had the backing i did at this event. I definitely made some mistakes and could've played better, but Eugene has a beastly Jin and while playing Tager can prove difficult at times, there is no greater thrill or enjoyment than playing The Red Giant of REAL SOVIET DAMAGE.

JT has a great Tager, no doubt about that. In all honesty, I'd have to say the main reason why I won was because the match up between Jin vs Tager is so stacked in Jin's favor. Tager is extra tall so that lets me climb all over him and use aerials as instant overheads--amongst many other problems. It's all good, though because Tager's getting some ridiculous buffs in BB:CS and will be way less of a headache to play. Jin will be nerfed, too--here, here.

Not sure for now, but if we get enough positive responses for holding one, we'll definitely put it in priority

There's a group that plays fighting games every Friday at Duquesne. They're big on SF4 and TVC, but I'm sure they're no strangers to BlazBlue.

So for those groups at Dusquesne and AIP, do I have to like go there to play?
Or do they just have a group that plays online together?

Play offline. There's no lag and you can learn a lot and make friends and get good advice and stuff. That said, I'm sure most of them play online, too.

It would be good etiquette to bring your own controller or stick, but I think they won't bite if you ask to use one of theirs.

I would link you to the Facebook group, but it's not working for me right now. Search for Pittsburgh Fighting Game Players, or the Pittsburgh thread on shoryuken.com.

Correction, there is lag. Especially if you're on PS triple. Its definitely playable, but technically speaking there is noticeable lag.
However you are correct in saying that you learn a lot and get good advice.

[01.17.10] - BlazBlue Tournament - results Empty BB players

Post by OutlawHSC Sun Feb 21, 2010 6:53 pm

So, just so you guys know all the details, we play at Duquense, we get in via Looptron (Stephan) who is a student there signing us in as a guest, we don't play BB much anymore, just Tekken, SF4, HDR, and sometimes TvC. However, if you want to play BB:CS, Stunedge (aka the best BlazBlue player in America.) happens to have an arcade set up of the game, because of how much it cost him, it's $5 to come to his place and play as long as you want. Get back to me if you want more details on that.

http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8324 is the thread for it, the address is in there. He qualified for SBO in Guilty Gear, so, you'll have an encyclopedia of knowledge just waiting there to teach you stuff if you ask.

    hi, everyone
as what OutlawHSC said, I have got BBCS in my place, so feel free to stop by.
Please see details on the dustloop thread, you can PM me if you are interested.

Though I technically charge for BBCS arcade setup, it doesn't have to be cash, you can offer me some snacks or food instead.
I can also play BBCT or even GGXX on console. Smile
